The purpose of the Practitioner certification is to confirm whether you have sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor M_o_R in a scenario situation. You should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying an M_o_R approach to any organizational perspective but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations. Your individual risk management expertise, complexity of the organizational context and the support provided for the use of M_o_R in your work environment will all be factors that impact what you can achieve.
What you will learn
Following the completion of the course students should be able to apply and understand how to tailor M_o_R effectively within an organization environment supporting M_o_R. Specifically, candidates should for any organizational perspective:
- Increase competitive advantage and become more risk aware by managing potential problems and opportunities.
- Improve performance through waste and fraud reduction and more efficient use of resources.
- Better manage contingent and maintenance activities and increase the likelihood of achieving change initiatives.
- Bring together principles, an approach and a process with a set of interrelated steps and pointers to more detailed sources of advice on risk management techniques and specialisms in order to develop a route map for risk management.
- Identify, assess and control risks to effectively manage them.

This qualification is aimed at anyone working within a corporate governance environment that has responsibilities for identifying, assessing, planning, or managing risks, or reporting on risk management activities across the organization.
